As of today, I am officially a fulltime Automattic employee! I’ve been contracting with Automattic for a few months now but didn’t want to talk about it for fear of cursing it. It really is a dream job for me as I’m working with some of the best people in the business and the WordPress community and I couldn’t be happier. I want to thank Matt and everyone else at Automattic for giving me this great opportunity.
(I’m 4th from the right in the back row.)
That has got to be the best news of the day. So glad for you, Automattic and the WordPress community. You certainly deserve in more than most.
Awesome! Congratulations you are working with some great people on my most favorite and most used blogging platform.
Welcome to the team, sir!
Well done mate! This is great news indeed.
thats fantastic Alex – now i recommend you to use your own wordpress theme 🙂 Automatic rocks…
Huge congrats, Alex. Further proof that Automattic are snapping up great talent. Well done, man
Congrats and good luck with your new job at Automattic!
Congrats on the dream job. I knew you were contracting for awhile and just waiting on whether or not you’d be told you’re on full time. Must be an awesome feeling of exhilaration to be part of the Automattic team. I’ve had the pleasure meeting and talking to a bunch of them and they are nice people, smart too.
Wow. I envy you 🙂
Took them long enough 😉
Congrats Alex!
Thanks all. 🙂

Dude, I didn’t realize you hadn’t started full-time yet 🙂 Congrats, and welcome to the team! You’ve been crushing it so far, and I expect you’ll continue to do the same!
Awesomeness, Alex! 🙂
Congratulations! I hope you have an option in your contract that allows you an out if you’re offered the job of The Stig
I think they require that you have a driver’s license for that position. 😛
As a joke didnt’ we almost require a drivers license? But then it might be years before we could hire you 😉
Though on the track, you’ve already proven yourself.
Haha, it’s actually on my todo list, but when I’m not working, I don’t want to spend that time working on something else (i.e. a license). 🙁
As for the track, I dunno about that — Joesph and a few others kicked my ass.
Nice! At the first WordCamp PDX (2.5 years ago) I remember you saying that you hoped to get a job with Automattic. Glad it finally happened. Look forward to seeing more of the work you do with them.
Another WordPress community role model that made it into the Automattic staff and deserves it well. Good luck! 🙂
Congratulations! Automattic made a very smart decision. Looking forward to your contributions.
Automattic keeps getting the best people from the community. Congratulations!
Whoa, this is wicked. Congrats! You deserve it, man.

You are an awesome addition to the Automattic team.

Very far left.
And please rate your Gravatar appropriately. It should be rated PG, not G. 😉
(My blog is set up to only allow G-rated avatars.)
Woohoo! Even happier I was with you in person to congratulate you. 🙂
Haha. 🙂
I had a great time with you in San Antonio by the way. Thanks for the fun.
As for the track, there were many more people behind you!
