I managed to drop my laptop off a chair at the airport yesterday. In the process I snapped off the power plug to charge it. Not great when one of the reasons I’m here is to use it to work with my coworkers.
My laptop uses an odd voltage so none of the generic chargers at Best Buy would work.
I just have a few hours of battery life left and then I’m stick doing pair programming for the rest of the week. Crap.
I think I may start carrying a spare…
Damn, that’s truly bad luck, nobody would ever thought about THAT possibility regarding “backups” devices. 🙁
Assuming you’re only going to throw out that power adapter, that plug would be incredibly easy for a electronic repair place to replace (although you’d probably end up with a taped up lead or something).. although I admit, finding somewhere willing to replace it might be almost impossible in a lot of places..
Yes, when I get home that’s probably what I’ll do.
