I put my Viper on a dyno today to see what kind of horsepower and torque it was making at the wheels. It supposedly makes 600 horsepower at the crank and I’ve heard reports of 530 to 560 horsepower at the wheels, so I was curious to see what mine actually makes. Turns out it’s 533 horsepower and 504 lb-ft of torque. Considering it was a little warm out and decently humid, that’s not bad!
Changing out every single fluid in the Viper with help from my friend Jim! We’re also installing braided stainless steel brake lines to replace the factory rubber ones.
Out for a drive with 9 other Vipers. Should be a fun day!
Achievement unlocked: we maxed out our Mercedes-Benz E250 rental car on the Autobahn in Germany. No, I have no idea why it has winter tires on it in August.
Video when I get home, but here’s a quick photo for now of actually being out on the Nürburgring! I got rides in three very different cars. I didn’t drive though as it costs a fortune to get a rental that is allowed on the Ring.
I finally had a chance to see the infamous Nürburgring race track yesterday! Historic races were going on with many cool old cars.
I should be getting some rides around it tomorrow!

I’m in southern Germany for two weeks to see car museums and to visit the amazing Nürburgring race track. I’m camping and driving with a bunch of Europeans who are members of a car forum I run.
My rental is this Mercedes-Benz E250 diesel. I got it up to 200 kph (124 MPH) on the Autobahn yesterday before having to back off due to the 210 kph limited snow tires that are stupidly on it.
