“Weapon of Choice”
I can’t listen to “Weapon of Choice” by Fatboy Slim without seeing Christopher Walken dancing in my mind. That’s perfectly fine by me though — such a great music video. Truly a classic.
OK Go’s “Needing/Getting” Music Video
OK Go always has the most amazing and complicated music videos and their latest one does not fail to impress:
James Blake – Limit To Your Love (Daniel Bortz Edit)
I’m going to try to post some more interesting music I find here. I’ll start with this good… downtempo? version of “Limit To Your Love” by James Blake that I found via Art Department’s Essential Mix. I really think the beat dropped behind it helps the song out.
An Update On That Halloween Light Show House
Remember those videos I posted back on Halloween of a house featuring an amazing light show? Well after that LMFAO video went totally viral, LMFAO actually showed up at his house to do a video:
LMFAO even made use of his house for the American Music Awards:
He also created a great light show for “Sexy And I Know It”:
Props Matt whose post reminded me to post an update.
Portal 2 Soundtrack & Ringtones
Fan of the awesome Portal 2? Valve has put out a free soundtrack for the game as well as some of the songs in ringtone form.
Guitar Covers Of Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” From Tron: Legacy
Two great covers of Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” song from the Tron: Legacy soundtrack, one of the best movie soundtracks in recent history in my opinion.
Anatomy of a Mashup: Definitive Daft Punk Visualised
A mashup is a song created by blending two or more other songs. The more complex a mashup gets, the harder it is to distinguish the parts that are being used to create what you’re hearing.
This visualisation of the song “Definitive Daft Punk” by Cameron Adams dissects a mashup in realtime to show you how each of the 23 parts contributes to the greater whole.
A really cool usage of Javascript, HTML5, and CSS3 to show how a mashup of 23 Daft Punk songs are layered and made: http://daftpunk.themaninblue.com/
Ewan Dobson – Time 2 – Guitar
This is quite amazing:
Foo Fighters Live In Austin For SXSWi 2011
I thought I’d share a couple of videos off my iPhone from the awesome Foo Fighters concert during SXSW 2011. They were absolutely amazing live. They played their whole new album and then like 10 of their classics.
If I had known that the audio was going to turn out so decent, I would have shot more. 🙁
