If you’ve ever been sent a link to a plugin hosted on WordPress.org and wanted to install that plugin, you currently have two options:
- Download the plugin manually, upload it to your blog either via the admin interface or via FTP, and then activate it.
- Visit your admin area and find the plugin again via the Add New Plugin interface.
Both options are annoying, especially since you’re already staring at the plugin you want to install.
Well now there’s a much easier solution! Simply install this plugin to your blog and then either install it’s Greasemonkey script or it’s bookmarklet from the plugin’s page and you’re all set. You will then be able to literally one-click install any plugin directly from WordPress.org.
- Download from WordPress.org (0 downloads)
Yes, you’ll have to install this plugin manually or via your admin area. Luckily though it’ll be the last plugin you’ll have to install this way! 🙂

Works great, thank you
And I see your FAQ answered the question I had: it works with multiple blogs. Awesome!
Installing now 🙂
Nice, but I already created something quite similar in my plugin “Improved Plugin Installation”.
I like the marriage of Greasemonkey and WordPress. Great time-saving plug-in! Thanks
Maybe someone will write one for ordering take-out through WP.

Your plugin works completely differently from mine but yes, they can accomplish similar results. I hadn’t thought of a bookmarklet though — I think I’ll add that to my plugin as a backup for people without Greasemonkey. 🙂

Question: Is it possible to have this function on multiple blogs? Or, does it “stick” to the first WP you activate it on?

I can’t upgrade to v1.2.1:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_FUNCTION in /www/htdocs/w00b506a/blog/wp-content/plugins/wordpressorg-one-click-install/wordpressorg-one-click-install.php on line 236

What in the world? I had someone else report that error to me, but I cannot reproduce it on any of my servers.
What version of PHP are you running?
Found the missing closing bracket. Odd that it didn’t show an error for me on any of my servers.
Fixed in v1.2.2.

Was that caused by the missing bracket?
Indeed, now it works! Thanks.
