  3. Hello

    there is something wrong in your description above of embedding a flash video and also in the help section of the plugin.

    Instead of using [flash]…[/flash] you have to use [flv]…[/flv].

    • The [flash] tag is for directly embedding SWF files. The [flv] tag inserts a player that will play the passed video file (FLV/MP4/etc.). I should probably be more clear.

  9. Sorry if my question was already been answered, but what about Trailer Addict? (www.traileraddict.com)

    It’s a very famous website with many trailers and for someone who would like to share them in an easy way, would be perfect! Because in YouTube, they can delete videos or just disallow embeding, but in Trailer Addict, no 🙂

    Thank you

  10. Hey guys!

    I can’t seem to make the plugin show the title (and other parameters) for Vimeo movies.

    I’m trying to change the default settings but no luck. All I get is the Play button in the center.

    Any clues?

  11. I have just installed this plugin on my wordpress site. When I go to import the video content on a post or page the buttons for importing video do not sure up. Is the plugin broken? Could it be interfering with other pluginsI have on the site? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

  13. Hi! Seems as if the latest version requests a file which doesn’t exist when editing articles in the backend:

    wp-content/plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/buttons/%27+tag+%27.png

    • A recode from scratch is currently in the works for this plugin, so I’m not worrying about minor bugs such as that one as they won’t apply in a month or two. Thanks for reporting though. 🙂

  16. Great plugin !
    But when inserting my own video (.avi video with my url) and playing it with Windows Media Player, it is always automatically starts, even if the option Start automatically is disabled. What can I do ?
    Thanks a lot

    • What can I do ?

      You can convert the video to FLV and then use embed it that way. Or upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, etc.

      Simply put, embedding actual video files and getting them to work with all browsers and operating systems is really hard and will never work 100% correctly for everyone.

    • Your caps lock key appears to be stuck on. You might want to take a look at that.

      As for LiveLeak, it looks like their URLs share a common video ID with their embed HTML, so it should be possible. I’ll consider it. 🙂

  20. Hello Viper,

    Well I finally tried your plugin in MU and had no luck with a blip video.
    Question – seeing as you wrote the native embed code.

    This – does not work (WPMU did not convert it as per http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds
    http://www.blip.tv/file/3248592/

    This – does not work
    [embed]href=’http://www.blip.tv/file/3248592/[/embed]

    THIS does work … (regardless of alignment)
    [embed]href=’http://blip.tv/file/3248592/[/embed]

    Thoughts? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Gil

  25. Hey Viper ! I love your Quicktags Video plugin, its amazing and my site would be useless without it !

    A few questions I have for you 🙂

    1) Is it possible to have a “Dim Lights” feature. As in, you click the Dim Lights button and your entire site will get darker, except for the Video embed.

    2) So there are 2 sizes where people can watch videos. One size is the normal size that is embedded in the post, the other size is to FullScreen the video. Is it possible to have a “middle” size, as in, the video sort of pops-out in a medium size on your website ?

    Dim Lights example : http: //phoanime.com/anime/13411/Fairy-Tail/Episode-21-Part-2
    Pop-out player example : forgot where i saw it >_<
    (I put spaces after the http: )

  27. Oh ! One more thing……is it possible to have a preview video before the actual videos start (for flv videos) ? like a short 10 second clip, sort of like an advertisement.

  30. Hi Alex,
    How can i remove the styles and scripts inserted in the head section:
    .vvqbox… and var vvqflashvars = {};
    Can´t find their “enqueue”.

    Thanks. Great plugin.

  31. Hey Viper, I have a question for you regarding the Veoh player.

    If you arn’t aware, there are 2 things that Veoh do to their videos.

    1) They block certain countries from viewing their videos.
    2) Any video that is longer than xx minutes, they will show only a 5 minute clip of the video and force you to download their webplayer to watch the full video.
    (I say xx because I’m not sure exactly how many min)

    I’ve been looking at other websites, and I’ve noticed a couple of websites that have bypassed both these problems, and to top it off, they play the video on their own player (like FLV videos)

    I’ve put everything together in a Post I would like you to view.

    http://tinyurl.com/yctsz9a
    password = quicktag

    I’ve tested with some of my visitors. They tell me they get “Video Unavailable” message in the “My Veoh Tabs” but in the Custom tabs they can view video fine. And you should probably be able to see the 5 minute preview problem for yourself. You can check the source code, its the same veoh video ID for all of them.

    So, How can I replicate this with your plugin ? preferably keeping the [veoh] ID [/veoh] function.

  36. I figured it out, seems the plugin isn’t using version 5.0+ of the flash player(is this correct and if so is there a chance an upgrade will be coming?), which just means I needed to us agegate-1. For those interested all you need to do is add the “plugins=agegate-1”

      • Duh, well then anyway to implement Age Gate usage? I’m rather baffled why Youtube doesn’t have Age Gate support. Though from various message boards, Age Gate wordpress video is something lots of people are looking for.

      • Hello again! I am reading these comments and it looks like you are going to discontinue using the JW player. My site has many .flv files displayed via your plugin. Will their still be support for .flv files via some other means?

        My site is not commercial.

        So far your plugin has been one of my favorites. 🙂

        • Ok. I just read the article above and it says “The new plugin will be backwards compatible and keep your current videos working.” This appears to answer my question.

          🙂
