    It’s been asked and answered before. The embed code has nothing in common with the URL in your address bar, so you might as well just use the embed code in it’s entirety.

    Uh, they did’t fix anything. It’s simply v4 of my plugin (which is linked to above) and I don’t recommend using. It’s buggy as hell.

    As for the Spanish translation, the plugin already supports Spanish without any modification. lol All they had to do was create a .mo file.

    Version 3.0.0 — Available for download until v4.x is bug free, doesn’t add buttons to the rich text editor in WordPress v2.1

    Buttonsnap, the PHP class used to add buttons to the WYSIWYG editor in WordPress v2.0.x is not compatible with the version of TinyMCE that’s bundled with WordPress 2.1.x. v4.0.0 of my plugin has a workaround for it, but due to other parts of the plugin not working right, I don’t recommend using it.

    Just disable the WYSIWYG editor or manually type in the BBCode.

  12. Great plugin. I am having trouble because, for instance, the YouTube when displayed isn’t completely showing. I have a narrow area. I tried halving the width and height in your config, but the video would not show at all. How can I get around this problem?

  14. I found a work around. Whatever size you want the YouTube to be set it, but set it in the plugin config file also. Worx nice and is still XHTML compliant.

  16. Hi, I have a problem. I became adicted to your plugin. Is just great. It work great so far but now, after have serious problems audio/video sync problems with my youtube videos, I was looking for something better. I try several, but first Metacafe and Ifilm, in order to use your plugin. After my research, I realized that blip.tv is the best. But of course,I wanna keep using your plugin! Are you gonna add support to this service too??? Please!!!

    I personally like that method better, instead of incorporating this into the rich editor. I would most probably download the plugin then – as it would simply be a matter of support for embedding the XHTML-friendly tags into the Saved document for that tag.

  20. I download the plugin then put it in my wordpress plugins folder and acitivate it.
    Then i go to write post and find button to ad youtube, googl video and others to ad videos in my post, but when i click youtube or any button it did nothing, i click on all video buttons and nothing happend, no tags are added in working area, what should i have to do ?
    I am not using visual rich editor. PLz Help

  22. Looks like the Quicktime embed feature will only work in IE browsers, as the code produced does not include tags, only tags recognized by IE. Can this be corrected for the next version?

  24. Hey There! I found your plugin to be super easy and worked straight away. One thing though: I can’t get autostart to turn off. I’ve embedded an external .asx file which plays in Safari thru Quicktime (with Flip For Mac installed). I’ve added the param autostart =false string as mentioned in the thread above to BOTH the Quicktime and WMV directives but it still plays automatically when navigating to my blog page!

    Any help is appreciated!

    The problem is that the embed HTML has nothing in common with the URL in your browser. You might as well just copy/paste the embed code outta the embed box. 🙁

  27. I like your plugin, and it was easy to install and use, however the fact that video cannot show in the RSS feeds is a deal breaker for me. I subscribe to a feed because I want the content to come to me as it saves time. I’m sure my readers expect the same of me. Thanks again!

    I’ve been using your plug-in for over a year now, and think that it’s amazingly useful. It would be nice to maybe generalize it a bit more so you we could add custom wrappers for other video players at some point if we have the embed/object code, but I can always swim around in the code and modify things to add other players if I must.

    I’d love to be able to embed clips in RSS feeds too. I’ve seen this in other sites that don’t use this plug in, but I know that some RSS readers don’t like the object code for the feed. That said, I understand Viper’s choice to not include it, but it would be nice as an option.

    You can’t have <object> tags in RSS feeds. I mean, you can, but it will break the validation of the feed and therefore cause problems in some feed readers. 😉

  30. Nice plugin. I want to display a small version of the videos if they are being displayed on a particular WP template (e.g. the homepage).

    So I’ve added a custom filter for $content. Of course, your plugin hasn’t yet converted the BBcode to the UFO code, so I am looking to call your VipersVideoQuicktags->replacebbcode($content) function from my filter, then search for the height/width attributes and shrink them by 200% or so.

    Currently I cannot figure out how to do this. It looks like your action hooks are at the save/publish level, no? Is there an easy way for me to conditionally serve up different size videos depending on which page they appear? Or at the very least, can you steer me in the right direction as to calling your replacebbcode() method?

    They aren’t, they’re on display. And yes, it’s easy.

    Write a plugin that hooks into the_content very early (like at 1). Modify the BBCode depending on what page you are on and change the size there. In this format:

    [youtube width="123" height="456"]xxxxx[/youtube]

    Some simple regex should get the job done.

    Then when my plugin comes along, it will display it at the size your plugin has set.

    You’ll need to float the videos. Something along these lines should probably do:

    <div style="float:right;margin:5px;">[vvq bbcode here]</div>

    I don’t think this is true. I’ve created my own test page with one of my QT files and it autostarts. Yet, when I go to your test page, none of your QT files autostart. This of course in on the same machine, same browser.

    in my post. Nothing seems to be parsed. No video shown. Any idea or help?

    Thanks for the plugin its great.I had a problem when I tried to add a video using your “Generic video” option. It worked fine in explore but it didn’t work I firefox.

    I added an embedded tag option to you JavaScript and now it works!

    Can you make it collapsible which clicking the link title. Because, I have a lot of videos to add in one post. Thus, the page gets very long and scrolling becomes cumbersome.

  47. I am having problems with the display of YouTube video in WP 2.3. I had no problems in earlier versions. You can see the issue clearly here http://tinyurl.com/273mbk

    Is this a CSS issue? It seems to affect all themes in WP 2.3.

    Is there a solution or workaround for this issue?

  48. Disabled all plugins with the exception of your and that fixed the issue. I think it had to do with
